1. How did you/your family get into the mortgage business?
My dad was in the mortgage business since 1981. I got into the business in 1999 following in his footsteps. I would work during summers even when I was in high school to learn the business and have been in ever since.
2. What sets Lund Mortgage apart from other mortgage brokers?
Our team concept is working together. We don’t have individual loan officers. What that means is everyone helps out and our clients are always able to get a hold of someone.
3. Name some of the most important values for your business.
Lund Mortgage is very consumer-direct which also sets us apart from a lot of the industry. We really care about our clients and what is best for the consumer. I feel its important that not only are they getting a mortgage, but they understand why they’re getting it. We really take pride in helping to educate our clients.
4. Who has been an inspiration to you in your professional career?
My dad has always been a huge inspiration for me.
5. What advice do you have for other mortgage lenders in the industry?
When it feels like it’s getting tough just work through it. The long hours, the craziness, it’s all worth it in the end to get a first-time homebuyer in a home or save them money with a refinance. You just have to keep growing and keep learning.
6. What’s something about yourself that most people might not know?
I do competitive ballroom dancing as a hobby. It was actually a charity event locally. I have a friend who was a coach and they do a local dancing with the stars. It was my friend that asked me to participate. I just fell in love with the art and started competing on my own. It’s a great way to relieve your stress. Alot of people also wouldn’t know that I have four wonderful children
7. How has Class Valuation helped you make your customers happier?
I really valued our partnership and the concierge group. I love having a group of people that we can go to if there’s an issue with scheduling. It’s just great to know that we can call over there and get help. Michael and his team have really been an asset to us.
8. What are your long-term goals?
Basically to keep our team concept and keep educating our consumers. We’ve been in the valley for 20 years and I hope that I can sustain these same values and pass along the business to one of my kids one day.
