I am the Northwest Regional Manager for Home Point Financial. I became part of Home Point when they acquired Stonegate Mortgage in 2017. It has been great to watch our growth since the acquisition, and we have a lot of great things upcoming. My territory is 18 states and covers the upper Northwest through the Rockies and over to the Midwest. I have been managing a wholesale/correspondent region since 1993 and have worked for 4 companies in that time. I started in retail as a loan officer in 1988 before moving to wholesale in 1991. I grew up and still live in the Chicago area and attended the University of Illinois.
Name something on your bucket list.
To play Augusta National Golf Club. I have been to the Masters twice and that golf course is incredible.
If you could have lunch with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
My parents. Sadly they are both not around any longer and if I could, that is who I would choose.
What is the strangest thing you’ve seen on the job?
It’s a tie between some of the letters of explanation or the interior photos on an appraisal. I can’t believe some of the things people have written and I really can’t believe some of the things people allow to be photographed in their home by a stranger.
What qualities do you value in the people with whom you spend time?
Laughing and being able to enjoy themselves. People who constantly complain and always fear the worst are not enjoyable to be around so I try to avoid those personalities whenever possible.
Where is your favorite spot in the world?
New Buffalo, MI. It is a small beach town on Lake Michigan and very close to Chicago. If you haven’t been there, Google New Buffalo sunsets. You won’t believe that this is an hour outside of Chicago.
