The real estate appraisal industry faces ongoing challenges in maintaining consistent quality and professionalism across a diverse network of independent professionals. Recognizing these challenges, a few appraisal management companies (AMCs) are developing specialized programs to identify, support and incentivize high-performing appraisers. Class Valuation's Elite Appraiser Panel represents one approach designed to create a structured pathway for recognizing exceptional performance and establishing more rigorous industry metrics.
To better understand this approach, we sat down with Melinda Lesinski (ML), EVP Operations, and Tracy Dominiak (TD), SVP, Fulfillment Operations & Panel Management , to learn more about Class Valuation's Elite Appraiser Panel and its evolving impact on the mortgage industry.
Why and when did the Elite Appraiser Panel start?
ML: We felt traditional appraisal models often failed to adequately recognize and reward exceptional professional talent, creating a need for a more strategic approach to appraiser development and retention. By establishing the Elite Appraiser Panel, we sought to develop a performance-driven ecosystem that incentivizes high-quality work and provides meaningful professional opportunities for top-tier appraisers.
TD: We launched the program in the third quarter of 2024, and it quickly experienced impressive growth, doubling the number of Elite appraisers in a short period. We currently have 308 Elite appraisers. This carefully curated group represents the pinnacle of professional appraisal talent.
What benefits do Elite Appraisers receive?
ML: Our Elite appraisers enjoy significant advantages, including priority order selection, faster payment processing, access to custom training and education, and more consistent work volume. The program creates a mutually beneficial relationship where top performers are rewarded with more opportunities.
How do clients benefit from the Elite Appraiser Panel?
TD: By developing meaningful partnerships with our Elite appraisers, clients experience faster turn times, higher-quality reports and more consistent communication. We conduct monthly performance reviews to ensure our Elite appraisers meet strict requirements across multiple performance indicators.

How is the Elite Appraiser Panel helping to set new industry standards?
TD: We're creating an aspirational model for appraisers. By marketing the Elite Appraiser Panel as an exclusive, invitation-only program with strict performance requirements, we're encouraging appraisers across the industry to elevate their own standards. When appraisers see the benefits and recognition of being on the Elite Appraiser Panel, they're motivated to improve their performance.

As one of the largest AMC’s in the country we have the scale to consistency provide Elite appraisals consistent volume year round. This approach ensures the designation is meaningful and provides real, tangible benefits for appraisers and clients.
What role does technology play in the Elite Appraiser Panel?
TD: While we don't provide direct technology to appraisers, our SmartAssignTM technology, which assigns tasks based on location, performance metrics and current capacity, optimizes order distribution. After staff appraisers are utilized, Elite appraisers receive priority in order assignment, creating a clear career progression pathway.

We anticipate moderate growth in 2026.
What advice would you give to appraisers wanting to join the Elite Appraiser Panel?
ML: The key to being part of this program is professionalism and communication. Appraisers must understand they're impacting more than just a transaction; they're touching someone's American dream. How they present themselves during an inspection, how quickly they communicate and their ability to deliver high-quality work on time are critical. The more they refine these skills, the closer they'll be to being offered an opportunity to join Class Valuation’s Elite Appraiser Panel.
